Are you Yoking in bonds? (Part Three)

STAND fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 KJV
Stand fast, and be not held again under the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 Douay Rheims
Stand ye therefore, and do not ye again be held in the yoke of servage. Galatians 5:1 Wycliffe
Paul is speaking to the Church in Galatia. We need to make reference to what Paul was writing about unlike the first two posts on Yoking. Paul is referencing the Law to the Galatians.
Why would Paul do that? Because of Peter. Paul had to rebuke Peter to his face in front of everyone. What was Peter's crime? Peter was acting like a Jew following the laws instead of believing in faith of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 2:15-16 "We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."
The author of Romans (8:15) says it beautifully "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." Our yoke is not for bondage of fear or in the world but to have liberty in being free to Christ's yoke.
Perhaps the greatest example of bondage is found in John 8:31-56, Jesus is talking to the Religious Jews, scribes and Pharisees. "They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
Our liberty is in Jesus Christ not in the bondage of sin. Our yoke needs to be in Jesus Christ who set us free. If you yoke in in the bondage of sin, ask Jesus Christ into your life. Ask the Lord for liberty where you are free from the bondage of sin and death. It will truly change your life.
