Are you Yoking with Unbelievers? (Part 2)

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 KJV
Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever?
2 Corinthians 6:14-15 Douay Rheims
Do not ye bear the yoke with unfaithful men. For what parting of rightwiseness with wickedness or what fellowship of light to darknesses? and what according of Christ to Belial? or what part of a faithful [man] with the unfaithful? 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 Wycliffe
In the last post, we discussed about being "yoked" with Christ. Here, Paul is talking to the Church at Corinth on how to be a Christian. We can't be "yoked" with Christ and with evil people. I can attest to this as part of my salvation was cutting ties with people in my past.
Many of you reading my posts know I lost two friends recently, one to cancer and the other to ALS/leukemia. They were friends knit to my soul, intimate in every sense of the word. Their faith was deep in Jesus, yoking their very life in Jesus Christ till their last breath.
We have come to think of intimate as being sexual in nature. Being intimate has nothing to do with sex. Shame on those who interpret words and meanings to give it such a vile definition. Intimate has nothing to do with sex. It has to do with being close in the soul or woven in the fabric on a persons life or heart together in Love for each other. Sex is just that sex. How sick we are as people to think of sex is anyway intimate? You love a person intimately regardless of sex.
We as Christians will have people that cross our paths that will become friends and acquaintances who are unbelievers. Paul is not talking about this piece which is inevitable as their are way more unbelievers than believers on earth. We are to take the "yoke" of Christ not the burden's of evil, wicked, dark people.
I have found in my own life when I unhooked my "yoke" with unbelievers that drama and problems seem to go away. It is amazing to cut away wicked people out of your life, how many problems just go away. Some of them were Christians i had to cut away. I found myself carrying other people's burdens and they were happy to share it with me. of course they are, someone else gets to carry the load.
How about you? How many wicked people's burdens are you yoked with? Unhitch the wagon aka yoke from them and draw near to the yoke of Christ. The yoke of Christ is sweet, light, easy. May the Joy of the Lord life the burdens of your life.
