Keep my Commandments

Proverbs 7 KJV
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
When the Hole Bible writes " a young man void of understanding," that cant be good. When i was in the Army, when the husbands were away in the field, the wives came out and played. That was the joke back then but it was not a joke. There was even a saying when a mop or broom was on the porch, it met whether the husband was home or not depending if it was up or down. Now, I am not sure on the mop/broom tale, but can certainly attest to the wives come out and play when their husbands do leave.
Proverbs 7 also reminds me of 2 Samuel 11 when David has sex with Bathsheba who was married to Uriah. David had him put on the front lines to be killed. Crazy story. David could have used this wisdom from Proverbs 7. David saw Bathsheba bathing, I am not so sure she is innocent either; however, it did say she was just getting over her period. The interesting part is woman usually get pregnant before their period according to medical research. I was always under the impression, it happens after the period.
I will let you read all of the Proverbs 7. It is important both men and women keep the words of the Lord close to our hearts, our soul, our mind, and our strength, our strength to say no and to flee sexual sin. The mind is a powerful tool, when properly fed with the Word of God, it is easier to resist evil. You can rebuke Satan and evil. Get close to the ills of the world, temptations will follow. I am not saying it is easy, life is hard. Life is full of evil all around us, constantly bombarding us with messages about sex, money, drugs, alcohol, and other ills of the world. Watch a movie or a TV show, including sports. Listen to music, read peoples comments on social media. That is why marketing works, it captures our attention. We have to constantly guard our heart, soul, mind and strength as the evils of this world can lead you astray which leads to death. Proverbs 7 is a strong reminder of keeping your focus on the word of God.
