Mercy and Truth

MY son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. KJV Proverbs 3:1-8
In this post, we wont be comparing the Douay Rheims version.
The Lord reminds us of His law and commandments, which once held the “Truths” of life on earth before Jesus, a key to living a long and peaceful life. If every person kept the Ten Commandments in their hearts daily, life on earth would be full of joy, hope, peace, and love. The challenge is that the world is in chaos with vainness, vileness, narcissism, cruelty, mercilessness, lies, deception, and many other things.
Jesus died to fulfill these laws and commandments, leaving us with Love God, Love Yourself, and Love Your Neighbor. If you do all three things in Love, you will never commit evil things towards other people—end of story. I ask the Lord daily in prayer for Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding as well as Guidance, Protection, and Security in doing the Lord’s will with His hand heavy upon me and a hedge commanding his Angels around me concerning me in all my ways. I don’t do this as a boastful measure, but it is a humbling cry for the Lord’s ways to be better than my ways.
The Lord directs my paths, opens and closes doors, and puts me in spots to help others from a kind word to uplifting them out of situations, whether financially or just being a cheerleader. Evil is out to destroy every one of us daily, which means we need the Lord daily for our physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, environmental, and occupational health. Trust in the Lord and have mercy (compassion) on others.
Lord, let us be a tool or an instrument for good to help others come to the light of Jesus Christ through your mercy and truth so that all may have joy and peace.
