Roadmap to Surrender

Roadmap to Surrender

Jesus set us up with a road map on how to live life on earth.  As he says in John 14:4 you know the way but several of the disciples did not comprehend it.  The good news is Jesus set us with a path to Him through the Cross.  Jesus took the cross to give mankind the truth and the life God designed for us.  Adam and Eve took this away from us by eating the fruit, Jesus took it back by taking the nails on the cross.

We have spent the past few weeks talking about the significance of John 14-17. You won’t find any of these verses in Matthew, Mark or Luke.  Jesus surrendered his life to God by taking the cross. We surrender our life to Christ by crucifying the flesh and being purged of the works of the flesh.  We need to eat from the Fruits of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Today, many Christians are still eating the bad fruits which are the works of the flesh instead of the fruits of the spirit. In my own life, God’s hand has been heavy upon me in my surrender to Christ. Jesus is the Absolute Present Ruler in my life, and I have Absolute Surrender to His grace, love and mercy.

It took 2.5 years for God to prune me of all my sin and darkness. I ate a lot of the bad fruit; in fact; all the works of the flesh were part of my earlier life until that day in jail which truly changed my life. My struggles were real and wish none of you to go through the purging that God put me through.

Over the next few weeks, we will study the Fruits of the Spirit. This will be a fun series because there is no law that can hold us back from experiencing God’s love as well as His will and plan for our life. We will go from “it’s all about me” to experiencing God blessing when we ask Jesus, He will do it per John 14:14 “If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
