Salvation

The Salvation of our soul to those that believe in Jesus is God’s greatest gift thanks to Jesus dying on the cross, first for the Jewish people and next for non-Jewish like me and maybe you. God introduced himself to me, but it still took two and a half years to finally ask God for the salvation of my soul through repentance of my sin.

My dark ways of vileness and vainness were very deep and painful rulers of my life, the burdens were heavy. Jesus tells us we need to ask God to take away our sins, no matter what they were, through repentance which happens when we are baptized for the salvation of our soul into eternal life. Below are three references.

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 10:10-13 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Asking Jesus to forgive your sins and putting faith in Him may be one of the hardest things in your life. Jesus tells a story in Mark 10 where a man came running to Jesus asking him what he must do to inherit eternal life.  Jesus tells him to follow his commandments. The kneeling man says I have done all of this. Jesus tells him to sell everything he owns and give it all to the poor. The man was sad and deeply grieved because he was wealthy. Jesus tells the disciples it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven because they trust in their wealth.

There are many people who grew up in the Church, repented and were baptized early in their life. There are others, like me, who did not grow up in a strong Christian home. My father was not a believer and my mom liked the Christian Science church. Jesus tells us there is more rejoicing in Heaven over a person like me than the person who “Walked with God” since an early age.

Luke 15: 7 “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

This goes back to the Prodigal Son story found in Luke 15 where the father throws a big party for his son who came back home from his riotous living. His brother who has lived a righteous life was upset that his father threw his riotous  living brother a party. Heaven was rejoicing. Paul reminds us in Titus.

Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Jesus gave us a gift by dying on the cross which is “Salvation through Repentance”. The writer of Hebrews 5:9 says Jesus being made perfect is the author of eternal salvation to anyone that believes and obeys the Word of God. Praise God.

She kicked me when I needed kicking to get the book and the website started to help those who need to come to belief in Jesus Christ. Thank you, Asha, for being an obedient servant to Jesus. The glory goes to God.
