Where is Heaven

Where is Heaven

John 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

A great friend of mine Lana asked me the other day “Where is Heaven”. Good question right. We know from Genesis 1 that God made the Heaven and the Earth; in fact, Heaven is mentioned seven times in Genesis 1 and 739 in total.  The first verse of Genesis 2 says God finished the heavens and the earth.

Revelation 22 tells us that there will be a new heaven and a new earth where the first heaven and first earth (Genesis 1) will go away. The sea will be no more as well. The holy city Jerusalem will come down from Heaven for those who follow Jesus Christ.

This brings us to John 14 where Jesus tells us we know the way where He goes which is Heaven. This is found in God’s word which He said in Genesis 1 and Revelation 22. Jesus prepares a place for all of us in Heaven where there are mansions.

As Jesus is speaking to the disciples, one of twelve Judas is about to turn on Jesus and three others seem to not understand what Jesus is talking about. Thomas asks Jesus we do not know where you are going and do not know the way. Jesus tells Thomas in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” You know me which means you know the Father.

Philip takes it a step further asking Jesus to show them God so they can see for themselves. Jesus tells Philip, I have been with you, do you not know who I am after all these years.

Lastly, Judas (not the one betraying Jesus) how will you show or display yourself to us and not to the world? Jesus answers Judas, if a person loves me, they will keep my words where the Father will love them and I as well. We will live with you.

Jesus continues, the Holy Ghost, the Comforter, will be sent by God to Earth. The Holy Ghost will teach you everything and bring remembrance of everything I have spoken to you. I give you my peace, not as the world gives, and your heart should not be troubled nor be afraid.

Satan, the prince of this world, is coming where he has nothing to do with me. Think about this, Hell is where God is absent, and Heaven is the place where God is present. For those who have read my book “Walk to God”, it explains the Absolute Absent and Present God.

Jesus tells the 11 disciples I will not speak much with you, but I leave you with this, the world knows that I, Jesus, love God who gave me this commandment.

We skipped over some key verses which provide us guidance here on earth in John 14:10-21 for each of you to read.

Where is Heaven? It is the place that Jesus has prepared for us when we die on this earth because we love Him, and He loves us.
