Who do you work for?

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. Colossians 3:22-25: KJV
Just recently, a few Christians I knew quit their jobs to pursue other avenues. The reasons they gave were 100% carnal more like excuses than working for the Lord. It is laughable to hear Christians say they believe in God, yet don't believe God's words and commands.
In one of my past jobs, I was sexually assaulted and verbally abused by colleagues particularly the leadership. My question to the Lord was why me Lord. Why am I still here? What purpose do I serve? I can say 100% it is the best decision for me to stay as the people I met along the way have blessed me a 1000x's more than if I would have quit and found a new job.
Now, we pray for the Lord's hand to be upon us, a hedge around us and to guide us in all of our ways. That much is true however Jesus reminds us in Matthew 54 "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." Jesus had the ultimate job, saving people from hell by dying on the cross.
Besides loving God, living yourself, and your neighbor, God commands us to do His Will and His Plan for our lives. It is easy, especially in the US, to do our own thing outside of God's plan. We can quit a job today and get a new one. It is that easy. In other countries, people do not have this luxury and need to stand firm with the job they are in.
Before you quit your job, here is what the Word of God says in living our daily lives. In Matthew 6, Jesus says to give to the poor (basic necessities), pray, fast, forgive people daily, work to help others not to live a lavish lifestyle or hoard the blessings for yourself, and last but not least, live for today for tomorrow is not promised. Like I said, it is easy to quit your job and find a new one. My guess is 99% of Christians especially in the US never pray nor fast for the Lord to open a new door for a new job or better yet ask the Lord why He has you working where he does.
It was very tempting to leave a previous job but all doors were closed until the day the Lord opened a new one for me. The people I met along the way continue to bless me today and have developed lots of friendships and fellowships in the Lord. We work for the Lord not people. Pray, fast, and cry out to the Lord as if it is His will a new door will be open or maybe he needs you right there to witness to the lost sheep. Remember, Jesus sweat blood before He went to the Cross. Work for the Lord, let His will be done.
