Wrong or Right

Colossians 3:25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons KJV
Colossians 3:25 For he that doeth injury, shall receive that that he did evil; and acception of persons is not with God. Wycliffe
Colossians 3:25 For he that doth wrong, shall receive for that which he hath done wrongfully: and there is no respect of persons with God. Douay Rheims
In a world full of Chaos, one could hope this is the case where evil and wrong is rewarded or punished in the same. It is hard when you see evil rewarded with good. There was a popular book written by a conservative Rabbi Harold Kushner "When Bad Things Happen to Good People". Or the reverse, when good things happen to bad people.
I can speak for myself early on when the Lord first came into my life, some of my evil or bad actions, resulted in evil or bad actions being returned. It is like your thought process, good Godly thoughts produce good Godly fruit. Negative/evil thoughts produce bad evil fruit.
It does not mean all actions whether good or evil have equal reactions of good or evil. We know this to be true that a person can get away with murder and not be murdered back, at least not in the short term. People are basically bad, it was true back in Adam's day and after God destroyed life in Noah's day. People are basically not good, their thoughts and actions are the result of evil thinking and activity.
I get the sense here Paul is speaking to Christian's, those who call Jesus their lord and savior. When we as Christians do evil, we can expect a similar response evil back from God for our actions. Jesus does not play favorites. As a Christian, it is my role to provide Jesus as the Light of the World. My life should be free from exactly what Paul wrote in verse 8-9 "anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another". We are instead to live what Paul says in 12-14 "bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another... put on charity". But Paul does not stop there he continues in 16 " teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord".
That is the sign of a true Christian, I love the verse "singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord". Grace not revenge. I wanted revenge that night before the Lord came into my life. The Lord had grace for me instead. God took a heart full of vengefulness to a heart full of His grace. His Grace. Now, what should I give others who are vengeful to me? Vengeance back or Grace. How about you? Know any vengeful people? How do you respond? Just like Jesus was singing grace on the Cross, we sing with grace in our hearts to the Lord. Jesus does not play favorites, he does not care about the wrongs others have done to you. He cares about the Grace you share back with others. Grace.
